Provo Flood Maps and Flood-Risk Information
Flood risk is property-specific, so a restoration company should not guess whether a Provo address is in a flood zone. The City of Provo and FEMA provide the official mapping resources property owners should use.
The 2026 Provo FEMA map update
The City of Provo announced that updated FEMA Flood Insurance Rate Maps became effective on June 23, 2026. The city says some properties are newly located within a Special Flood Hazard Area (SFHA), which FEMA uses to identify areas with higher flood risk.
How to check a specific property
Use Provo's official flood information and map resources or FEMA's tools. Do not rely on a contractor's marketing page to determine whether a parcel is inside an SFHA or whether a lender will require flood insurance.

Flood insurance and cleanup are different decisions
Insurance determines how covered losses may be paid. Cleanup addresses the physical water damage. If your property has already flooded, focus first on safety and stopping additional damage, then contact the appropriate insurer or agent about coverage.
If you have flood damage now
For water already inside the property, see flood damage cleanup and basement flood cleanup. If outside floodwater entered the structure, treat contamination as a serious consideration.
